Contemporary art materials

Material has always been linked to the work art style. It was a historical passage that occurred in the Renaissance from tempera to oil.. Over the centuries, the technique of oil has gone so far as to impose itself up to the present when  the acrylic seems to take hold and question the hegemony. Already in the twentieth century the technique of patchwork had determined discontinuity to the past and defined precisely the art of the 'isms', the avant-gardes of the beginning of the century. Subsequently, the varnish and the use of objects - often inserted inside the accumulated or painted material-, immersed in plastic substances, reaffirmed the importance of the materias, in the definition of the identity of the work art, as much as theoretical postersthe had contributed to this enterprise.
